Privacy Policy
How we handle personal data across our website, our client work, and the panel research behind True Twins™.
This policy explains what personal data Atani collects, why we collect it, and what rights you have. It applies to atani.ai and to the research services we deliver to our clients.
Who we are
Atani (“Atani”, “we”, “us”) operates the AI research platform at atani.ai. For the personal data described in this policy we act as the data controller, unless we are processing research data on behalf of a client, in which case that client is the controller and we act as processor under a written agreement.
Questions or requests: hello@atani.ai.
Data we collect from website visitors
- Information you send us. When you use the “Get started” or demo form, we collect your name, work email, company, role and the details of your enquiry.
- Email correspondence. Messages you send us and our replies.
- Technical data. Standard server logs — IP address, browser type, referring page, timestamps — kept for security and to keep the site running.
- Analytics. Only if you consent. See our Cookie Policy.
We do not buy contact lists, we do not run advertising trackers, and we do not sell personal data.
Research data and True Twins™
Our research models are built from data collected from real people who took part in panel research and consented to that use. Participants are recruited through vetted panel providers under their own consent and privacy terms.
- Participant records used for modelling are pseudonymised: they carry demographic and attitudinal attributes, not names, contact details or free-text identifiers.
- A True Twin™ is a statistical model of a population segment. It is not a copy of a named individual, and outputs are not attributable to any single participant.
- Findings are delivered to clients in aggregate. We do not disclose participant identities to clients.
- Participants may withdraw at any time; on withdrawal their source records are deleted from our systems and excluded from subsequent model builds.
Why we use your data, and on what legal basis
- To respond to your enquiry and provide our services — performance of a contract, or steps taken at your request before entering one.
- To operate, secure and improve the site — our legitimate interest in a functioning, safe service.
- To send occasional updates about Atani — only to business contacts who asked for them, and every message has an unsubscribe link.
- To measure how the site is used — your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- To meet legal and accounting obligations — compliance with a legal obligation.
Who we share data with
We share personal data only with service providers who help us run the business, each bound by a data processing agreement and permitted to use the data only on our instructions:
- hosting and content delivery
- email delivery and the form-handling service behind our contact forms
- analytics, where you have consented
- panel providers, for recruiting research participants
- professional advisers and authorities, where the law requires it
International transfers
Some providers process data outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, transfers are covered by an adequacy decision or by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, together with appropriate technical safeguards.
How long we keep it
- Enquiry and correspondence data: up to 24 months after our last contact, unless a client relationship starts.
- Client project records: for the life of the contract plus the statutory retention period.
- Server logs: up to 12 months.
- Cookie consent record: 12 months.
- Pseudonymised research records: for as long as the relevant model is in use, or until the participant withdraws.
Your rights
Under the GDPR and applicable local law you can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or provide it in a portable format. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting processing that already took place.
Write to hello@atani.ai and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to your national data protection authority.
Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls on a need-to-know basis, pseudonymisation of research records, and regular review of our providers. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat research data as the most sensitive asset we hold and design around that.
Children
Our services are for business users. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16 through this website, and research participation is restricted to adults.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date at the top. Material changes will be announced on the site.
